Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies are used on immunosync.com.au, why we use them, and how you can manage them. This Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device's browser when you visit. Cookies allow the website to recognise you (or your device), to remember your preferences, and to function correctly. The same general principles apply to similar browser-storage technologies including localStorage and sessionStorage.
2. Cookies and storage we use
| Name / Type | Category | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
kairoGreeted (sessionStorage) |
Strictly necessary | Tracks whether the Kairo AI assistant has already played its spoken greeting in this browser tab, so it doesn't repeat the introduction every time you reopen the orb. | Cleared when you close the browser tab. |
| Netlify session cookies | Strictly necessary | Set by our hosting provider, Netlify, to operate the website (e.g., session continuity, basic load balancing). No marketing or analytics tracking. | Session-scoped or short (typically minutes to hours). |
| WebSocket session memory | Strictly necessary | While Kairo is open, an in-memory WebSocket connection to Google Cloud's Vertex AI Live service holds the active conversation context. This is not stored on disk and is destroyed when the orb is closed or the tab is shut. | Active session only. |
We do not currently use:
- Advertising or marketing cookies (e.g., Google Ads, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag).
- Analytics cookies (e.g., Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Hotjar).
- Persistent identifiers tied to your device beyond your active browser session.
- Cross-site tracking technologies.
If we ever introduce additional categories of cookies (for example, lightweight first-party analytics to understand how the site is used), we will update this Policy and, where required by law, prompt you to consent before such cookies are set.
3. Third-party services
When Kairo is open, your browser establishes a direct WebSocket connection to Google Cloud's Vertex AI infrastructure. That connection is used to stream voice and text in both directions. Google's processing of that data is governed by Google's own terms applicable to Vertex AI customers; Google may set its own technical cookies for the purposes of operating that connection. See Google's privacy documentation at policies.google.com/privacy.
4. Managing cookies
Most browsers allow you to view, manage, or delete cookies and to control storage. Common controls:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions.
If you disable strictly-necessary cookies and storage, parts of the website (in particular the Kairo assistant) may not function correctly.
5. Do Not Track
Because we do not currently use cross-site tracking technologies, we do not separately respond to the "Do Not Track" header. If we introduce trackable analytics in the future, we will treat a "Do Not Track" header as a signal to disable those analytics.
6. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the date of the latest revision.
